Sub-chapters: The Portal The Detour
Prunella Up Up and Away The Panegate
The Mansion of E :: Part Two: Time and Space and Fleebs
This is the same woman who appears here. As I said then, out of all the characters I draw in this strip, pinning down her exact appearance has given me by far the most trouble. I'm fairly happy with this version, but we'll see how long that lasts... The Portal This new arrival is named Zay, and he appears via the courtesy and permission of Tom Irony, creator of the fine Keenspace comic Sandwich World. I'll let Zay explain for himself what he's doing here. Also, while I laid out the broad details of Zay's visit for Mr. Irony, and he approved, anything that appears here is my fault and my responsibility. Zay is being more-or-less accurate here, if skipping over a few details, as can be his wont. Should you wish to see first-hand the events he is describing, they start roughly here and then contine here in the Sandwich World archives. If you've been reading the rest of Sandwich World, then you'll probably have noticed that on that side of the dimensional divide, Zay has already come home from his wanderings. All I can say is, when you're dimension-hopping those time-shifts can be murder. This does means that, yes, Zay will survive his visit to the Mansion, which makes him luckier than some new arrivals. The Detour Uncle Bob is not a homage to myself, but to my fellow Keenspacer Bob Oosterwijk. He's a webcomicing demigod, and in a happy conincidence, he's just started updating his strip again. It's a terrificly-drawn parody of Star Wars and various other SciFi franchises. Check it out. And please don't call me Bob As for why Zay is an spiderburger connoisseur.. there are two possibilities; 1. over the years, Sandwich World has featured a very extensive list of offerings, and 2. once you start dimension-hopping, you quickly learn that if it remotely resembles food, you chow down, cuz on your next stop the local inhabitants may be eating granite and swilling sulfur... Prunella This is the woman who first appeared here. Up Up and Away Long after doing this strip, I realized that I previously used the name "Glorf" for a Nome in the forest. I would not have used it here if I had remembered that, so don't attempt to read any plot-significance into the repetition, apart from the fact I like the name Glorf. The Panegate Yeah, even more weird and cryptic than usual. Hang in there a day or two, and all should become clear. OK. Clearer. For those who don't read Sandwich World, Phil is a co-worker of Zay's. (But not the one he's looking for.) As you may guess, Zay does not hold him in very high esteem. And so Zay departs for further adventures elsewhere, before eventually returning empty-handed but alive to his home dimension. I enjoyed drawing him, and thanks again to Sandwich World creator Tom Irony for allowing him to visit the Mansion. (For those who are wondering, Zay's previous experience with tentacles came during his J-Walkin crossover.) And thanks also go to those who have stuck with the strip during my extended plot detour. We will be returning to Rosemary and Sylvester soon. Really. I promise. If you are seeing this text, your browser does not support inline frames
