The Mansion of E :: Part Four: The Road Less Travelled
Maw the Gobule was last seen here, while Snurt the Jibjib was here. A couple of the other Gobules have appeared as well, but they aren't worth linking to.
This group was last seen roughly here and here.
Sprocket and Flange previously appeared here and here.
This group last appeared about here.
I didn't intend there to be any confusion on this point, so for the record, Dorian is a Human, not a Nome. (Always check the ears, if you can see them...)
The use of "Sir" here doesn't indicate that Cox is a literal knight; it just seemed a better "English translation" for the honorific than "Mr."
I do have a design/layout for the Mansion complex worked out, with names and histories for all the basic structures you see here, but I'm never going to be 100% happy with all the fiddly little details. So, yes, there are some changes from the last time the Mansion actually appeared "on screen". (This is also why I so seldom draw the Mansion in the actual strip.) If these breaches in continuity simply can't be endured, as always, a wizard did it.
Amos Grubb last appeared way way back here. Fantod's only real appearence was here, although an alert observer may have caught a glimpse or two of him later on.
For once, a bit of explanation. People in the province of Erewhon are notorious for practicing different version(s) of Brush-worship than the rest of the Mansion's country. A woman named Cinnamon Crume wrote what are now considered the standard work(s) detailing these differences, along with Erewhonian history in general; any halfway-educated human will likely have read it/them. May 2013: I belatedly noticed that I used two different versions of Ms. Crume's name in various places in the comic, and so I edited this strip to be consistant. Amos of all people would get her name right.
