The Mansion of E :: Part Six: On My Way to Town
Ig the Saur last appeared here, after witnessing this. Buzz the Saur appeared here. And yes, that's the same guy. Art marches on. Feedback indicated that I didn't make it clear what is happening here, so, for the record, everything is going into the urn: the Poke Kit instruction booklet, the pole lantern and the bottle of blade oil. Since people were curious, those two pieces of art in the last panel were named by their separate creators as "The Ratcatcher" and "Sixty Nine Backwards". There are real-life reasons why they were included in this particular strip. Way back at the start of the strip, Mortimer brought Rosemary to the Mansion via this route. Rosemary spoke later of encountering Schmedley the butler at this place. I hate doing perspective shots, because they pretty much double the required drawing time for a strip, but sometimes the setup demands one.. Rosemary was given Austin Blevin's book on Audravania here. Rosemary saw Audra's self-commissioned statue here. And yes, if/when the action revisits the Hall of Achievement, just about everything in it will have Changed, because I can't hardly bear to even look at the original version now. Upon being unveiled, the first panel of the original version of this comic was subjected to nigh on universal artistic derision, and so has been slightly altered to enhance clarity. If you must, you can still see said original on the MoE backup site. Rosemary previously heard about Genrick here. She has a better memory for names than Mortimer. Rosemary and Sylvester touched on his frequency of Temple-visits here. The discussion about possible anti-library mobs occured here. Mortimer and Amos's discussion occured here. And yes, that's Eetown behind Sylvester. It won't take another year to get there, but be prepared to accept the fact that it's not going to bear much resemblance to what was glimpsed way back here. Though there is still a white building and a big tree.. A more exact analogy in that last panel would be "pressure valve", but that's not a concept that most folks in "Mansionland" are currently familiar with. It was pointed out to me there was an art problem with this strip, so I made some adjustments. If you want to see the original, it is still on the backup site. Yes, the speech bubbles are a slightly different color than usual. This was a deliberate artistic choice with them being in front of a white wall, and not a plot-point. The other thing they agreed on was seen here. The Mansion's Province of Audravania being a center of pudding-growing was mentioned here. Two of these characters, at least, last appeared here. I suppose it makes me a bad person, but I find examples of Bad Taxidermy to be endlessly hilarious. Ilsa Lundquist was previously discussed here. Stephen Skragg's father got him the book to read here. If you are seeing this text, your browser does not support inline frames
