The Mansion of E :: Part Four: The Road Less Travelled
In front you have Faddle, whose main moment in the spotlight was back here. Far in the background are Shona and two others, last seen here. The fellow in the middle still hasn't been officially named, and has made several brief appearences. (He's having almost as bad a day as Mortimer.) Anathama and Clochard the Gnolls last appeared here To give you an example of the things I agonize over when creating this strip: should I use the word "bat" here, or make up some new species? I finally decided, yes, there are colonies of non-sentient bats living out in the Fringes of the Basement. They fly up into the Forest at night, eat flutterbys and get eaten in turn by the giant Spyders. Also, it occurs to me that Digger is now just about the last character in the strip using his orignal dialogue-font. ("Invisible Killer"; a bonus point to anyone who can figure out why that's its name...) GBOLs were most prominently discussed here. Bokonon has been mentioned a couple of times previously, but for now, I shall cruelly allow the nail-biting suspense to build.. Crud touched on his and Bokonon's relationship here. So it goes. Chauncy, Edgar and the Woman of Mystery last appeared here. The WoM previously used a (different) panegate here. In case it's not clear, that is not the same eyebolt in the two panels. Also, the incident to which Agita refers happened here. She is scrubbing her mouth out because of this, which happened about the same time. Hiblehoy the Motihaul and Wrawa the Trog were last seen here. The two Ghast mediks are new characters, but their occupation was briefly discussed here. And be aware that attempting to literally physically twist a Ghast's arm would accomplish absolutely nothing. Sepferb the Ghast is the fellow now inside the Portapool. He required medical assistence after this. Probably no one notices or cares, but again, I'm trying out a new dialogue font, this time for Motihauls. Skuy and Sina the Gnolls were last seen here. Maggle the Trog was given her bucket-collecting assignment here. Voog the Wyrm last appeared here, but as noted with the Sina/Skuy link, events have moved on since then. Anyone else appearing in the shot can for the moment safely be considered a background detail. Comshaw gave his version of Sina and Sprocket's romantic travails here. Again, the folks in the background have appeared before, but you don't need to worry about them, unless you really really want to.
